Shots rang out in Brooklyn’s Brighton Beach last week, killing an innocent 16 year old girl and injuring several others. The shooting occurred when a pair of alleged gang members didn’t like how a couple of dudes walking by looked at them. Next thing you know it was pop off time. There may have been more to it than what was reported in the papers (I do not believe most of what I read in The POST!), but nevertheless, I do not believe the girl who was slain was the intended target, so no matter how you look at it, its a tragic, unnecessary death. Donny Goines wrote a song addressing the shooting, as the girl who was killed lived on his block in Harlem.
“I created the song, to raise awareness of violence in the community,” Donny explains.
