La Bamba – The Bad Seed & LR Blitzkrieg (the6ixers)

La Bamba – The Bad Seed & LR Blitzkrieg (the6ixers) is the first single/video off The6ixers EP on 6th Man Entertainment / MCMI Records. The song, produced by Grammy nominated producer Nottz, dropped a week ago, but now comes the video, a short film animated by Adesoji Ademola, who did the video for MCMI’sUNICORNS” by LEVELS band a year ago.

The two Plague brothers The Bad Seed and LR Blitzkrieg were inspired by their brother Robert PH Diaz (listed as executive producer) and the fact that they share the same birthday – February 6th.

With cuts by DJ Eclipse, the song – powered by an eargasmic sample and signature Nottz drums and bass – is an appetizer of Spanish soulfood and an entree of pure Hip Hop. The video explains the concept of the EP, a story of two assassins for hire, ready to make any rappers disappear. While there are some interesting concept songs on the project, the lyrics on this one are full of braggadocio and tough talk, setting the tone. Anyone disrespecting – or just in the way – is getting eliminated.

The video, a parodic nod to Tarrentino’s Pulp Fiction, was the brainchild of LR Blitzkrieg, who also did all the graphics, EP and song covers, digital graphics being one of his many talents. (#TheMediaBlitz)

The two Plague brothers Bad Seed and LR Blitzkrieg came together inspired by their brother Robert PH Diaz (listed as executive producer of the EP) and by the fact that they share the same birthday with each other, February 6th.

The Full EP is out now on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music and more. Check the FLOWPAGE for more places and ways to hear the music.

Hubbs, Skyzoo, DJ Rob Swift freestyle – DJ ECLIPSE Rap Is Out of Control Radio Show

Skyzoo freestyle on Rap Is Out of Control
The art of Freestyle (off the top, that is) is not dead, as evidenced on DJ Eclipse’s Rap Is Out Of Control radio show on Sirius / XM, earlier this month. The show airs on Channel 44, Hip Hop Nation, Sundays 10 to midnight EST and is one of the places you can still find DJing and MCing that is true to real Hip Hop culture.

In this clip, Skyzoo and Hubbs spit some very impressive freestyles while DJ Rob Swift of The X-Ecutioners cut the instrumental. This was to promote Skyzoo’s Music For My Friends, Hubbs’ mixtape Modern Vintage 3 and Rob Swift’s kickstarter campaign for, X-Files: Lost & Deleted, a collection of rare, remixed and reinterpreted songs feat. The Large Professor, J-Live + more! This will be Rob’s first album in six years, which includes a collection of rare, remixed, and reinterpreted songs for both young and old hip hop fans to appreciate.

Don’t forget, Skyzoo is one of the scheduled performers on August 5th, at the PH MEMORIAL TRIBUTE CONCERT, to pay homage to our fallen legend and raise money for his children. Get tickets here: bit.ly/phshowtix

PH TRIBUTE: Rock Steady Crew 38th Ann. 7/26/15

In the past month, there have been several amazing Tribute’s to our fallen brother PH aka Pumpkinhead aka Robert Diaz. A few that stand out to me are the E.O.W. MC Challenge of Champions, which PH was scheduled to participate in, where members of The Plague, Brooklyn Ac and Team Homi performed each of the rounds of the challenge, in the name of the Underground King. There was also the Legendary Cypher, in Union Square, which was attended by hundreds of friends, as well as PH’s wife and two sons, the eldest of whom spit a rhyme for his dad. Lot’s of people kicked rhymes in the cypher and it was a blessed event. Then there was the PH TRIBUTE MEMORIAL “All White Party” at Littlefield, Brooklyn, in Park Slope, one block from where PH grew up.

Several other events spontaneously happened all over, as well as numerous Radio Show tributes. It was all love and all proceeds have been going to the Fund for PH, which was set up by LR Blitzkrieg of MCMI, to provide money for PH’s children.

The next PH Tribute will be a set performed at RockSteady Crew 38th Anniversary concert, by friends and family, in Central Park. Big up to DJ Eclipse for reaching out to facilitate this and to Crazy Legs and the whole Rock Steady Crew, who PH and MCMI have been down with for years and always attend and participate in, regardless. This was one of PH’s many “homes” within Hip Hop culture and it is an honor to bless the stage for PH and his family, to further promote his musical legacy.

There will be more events throughout the summer, honoring our beloved friend and fellow Hip Hop artist, PH, so check MCMIreport.com for updates and subscribe to MCMI REPORT newsletter to be notified by email.
