The art of Freestyle (off the top, that is) is not dead, as evidenced on DJ Eclipse’s Rap Is Out Of Control radio show on Sirius / XM, earlier this month. The show airs on Channel 44, Hip Hop Nation, Sundays 10 to midnight EST and is one of the places you can still find DJing and MCing that is true to real Hip Hop culture.
In this clip, Skyzoo and Hubbs spit some very impressive freestyles while DJ Rob Swift of The X-Ecutioners cut the instrumental. This was to promote Skyzoo’s Music For My Friends, Hubbs’ mixtape Modern Vintage 3 and Rob Swift’s kickstarter campaign for, X-Files: Lost & Deleted, a collection of rare, remixed and reinterpreted songs feat. The Large Professor, J-Live + more! This will be Rob’s first album in six years, which includes a collection of rare, remixed, and reinterpreted songs for both young and old hip hop fans to appreciate.
Don’t forget, Skyzoo is one of the scheduled performers on August 5th, at the PH MEMORIAL TRIBUTE CONCERT, to pay homage to our fallen legend and raise money for his children. Get tickets here: bit.ly/phshowtix
