Styles P from The Lox has called for a Hip-Hop Union, after learning of Black Rob’s health issues and homelessness situation.

Styles P of The Lox says we need a Hip Hop Union.

Black Rob had explained that he has suffered four strokes and has nowhere to live.

“Oh man, I’ve been dealing with this for five years. Four strokes … I don’t know what to tell you man. Sh*t is crazy. The shit is hard,” he said. “I don’t got no house to live in, except maybe an apartment. Me and my man be trying to get together. I’m telling you man, this sh*t is strange. It’s hard, you know what I’m saying?”

The former Badboy artist best remembered for hit records such as “Whoa!”, “Espacio” and “I Dare You”, succumbed to his health problems a few days later.

Styles P had a lot to say about the unfortunate situation.

“Where is the union for rappers and artists?!?!?!?!? What is happening to black Rob Has happened to too many artists before him and will continue to happen to artists after him. Protection and a union is much much needed..and to those who are up that came from the bottom remember how it feels to be down and help out if you could . We need a union!!!!!!!” he wrote.

Since the birth of Hip Hop, there have been many artists who have suffered from illness or financial troubles, even though they had made millions of dollars at one point in time in the music industry. Some feel Hip Hop or the Music Idustry in general should unionize the way actors have the Actors Guild, so that they can have easier access to health insurance, pension planning and just support in times of need.

What doo you think? Should Hip Hop artists form a Union or is healthcare and financial well being the individuals choice and problem? Tell us in the comments below.
