MCMI REPORT: BAD SEED “BELT OFF” (prod. NOTTZ) off Final Album COREYOGRAPHY]

BAD SEED “BELT OFF” (prod. NOTTZ)

BAD SEED - BELT OFF prod NOTTZ

The Bad Seed first leapt on the scene in the late 90’s as part of Makin’ Records roster, (which included the late great Pumpkinhead #ripPH). He released a few underground singles solo and with O.B.S (Seed, PH, Magnum P), with guest appearances by Jean Grae and others, but it was after he put out the phenomenal records he did with the producer NOTTZ, that Bad Seed started to garner acclaim and recognition as a major part of the East Coast Hip Hop movement. Those first few records included “Uhhnnh,” “Would You Luh Me?” and “For The Kids.”

With placements on both Funk Flex’s “The Mix Tape, Vol. IV” in 2000 and DJ Kay Slay’s “The Streetsweeper Vol. 2” in 2004, Seed continued to put out self-produced mixtapes, drop albums on independent labels and make recordings with the Plague, all of which gained him a strong rep for quality music. When his close friend Mims made a splash with the hit record “This Is Why I’m Hot,” in 2007, Seed went on tour with him, supporting him as hype man and opening act. This is how Seed was able to release several dope independent products over the years, keeping his name out there, putting in consistently good work.

Then couple of years ago, Bad Seed, also known as Corey Pierson started acting in some online and straight to DVD movies, which he then was inspired to also write and direct. You can check out two of his film projects the Book of Job web movie and Thin Black Line (about police brutality and corruption), which actually got a theatrical release in upstate NY.

In 2015, the passing of his long time friend and former musical collaborator, PH, inspired Corey to pick up his mic once again and finish his long awaited final Hip Hop album, Coreyography, executive produced by PH. The album has gems on it, including songs featuring PH, MIMS, MIC HANDZ, JERZEY and MR. SHA, with production by VES, TONE JONEZ, NY BANGERZ , MARCO POLO, DP, DR NO and WILL TELL, but first out of the gate is this banger produced by NOTTZ!

Disrespect I won’t tolerate or deal with
Especially if them muthafuckers still kids
I ain’t ya age lil nigga go do ya homework
I was bangin when niggas was wearin long shirts
I was whylin when niggas was really on turfs
Yep, when snitchin get ya sister and ya mom murked
I ain’t ya peer lil nigga go get ya daddy
He dont wanna fight he talkin ’bout ADD ME
Puttin it out there
It is what it is
Tell shorty respect his elders cuz i beat people’s kids!

Being a seasoned veteran, Seed takes shots at the disrespectful, talent lacking, younger generation, not of MC’s or artists, but just kids in general these days. He let’s them know, if they get outta line, the belt is coming off!! Lol. Hardcore with a wry sense of humor is what Seed was always known for and this project does deliver.  Full Album set to drop July 8, 2016.
