Okay I am just going to post this. I don’t think it requires much explaining. If you aren’t familiar with the AKAI MPC series of samplers, or aren’t a producer, then this wont mean anything to you, whether you own an iPad 2 or not. But if you do know what it is, you understand what this means for the production game. Question is, is it a good thing? Will this lead to MORE creativity as talented producers (like 88-Keys who is in the video), use it to make great music on the go? Or will it make every 12 year old with an iPad 2 THINK they are a “producer” and fill the internet with 11 million more crappy beats? It’s not the technology that makes the music, it’s the man (or woman). But still, I think this is hella cool.
MPC Fly merges unmatched Akai Professional technology with the power of your iPad 2, embodying legendary capabilities that have made the MPC an industry standard like real MPC pads, MPC Note Repeat and MPC Swing. Its multifunctional, double-hinged design gives you the flexibility to produce tracks anywhere, while also acting as a protective case between sessions and giving you total access to your iPad 2 for normal uses. MPC Fly transforms your iPad 2 into a professional beat-making powerhouse.
