Tyler, The Creator & Domo Genesis: “Sam Is Dead” (Video/Film)

Directed by Tyler himself under the pseudonym “Wolf Haley”, this is from OF Tape Vol. 2. Tyler, The Creator’s style and delivery is more interesting than his crew member Domo Genesis, but what is really interesting is the film / video. I am not sure I am interested in hearing this audio alone as a song to listen to. But I watched the video several times. It is very interesting (as have been all of the Odd Future videos I have seen) and dares you to look away. Sure, the plot makes no sense and Tyler plays himself a dozen times over, but the cinematography and direction are excellent, the theme just enough parts abstract and twisted to fit OF’s collective persona. As a song I give this a B-, but as a video, A+.
