CELLA DWELLAS – BE TRUE (Video)

dwellasNew music from one of my favorite groups The Dwellas drop “Be True“. Shot in their hometown of Brooklyn NY with cameos by Duck Down‘s Tek & Steel, Phantasm and U.G. show us they’ve still got the skills that made us love their tracks in the first place. Let’s hope there is an album on the way!

El Gant + Tek (ft. Sha Stimuli) – “I Love Me” [Free Download]

I just saw El Gant perform the other day in NYC, (with some help from Kosha Dillz, BK and some other local talent), and he tore sh*t down. Add the Bootcamp veteran Tek (of Smif-N-Wesson) and the super talented Sha Stimuli into the mix and you KNOW I am going to listen to this. What? It’s a FREE DOWNLOAD?? Gimme dat! Enjoy.I Love MeFREE DOWNLOAD: AudioMack

Smif N Wessun @ Lyricist Lounge Celebrate Brooklyn Prospect Park 2011

Smif-N-Wessun
Smif-n-Wessun
perform a montage of their classic material at the Prospect Park bandshell show thrown by the
Lyricist Lounge team on July 9th 2011 as part of the Celebrate Brooklyn series. The Bootcamp veterans put it down for the Duck Down family. Tek came onstage with what seemed like his daughter in a baby carriage, then picked her up and rhymed with her in his arms.  According to DuckDown.com the label’s official site, that was actually Sean P’s daughter – “Shaun P” – and later Buckshot hit the stage for a verse with his own daughter in his arms as well. The duo were joined onstage by Sean Price and Rock of Heltah Skeltah and performed both classic material and new stuff off their new album, Monumental, produced in it’s entirety by legendary triple threat, beatsmith, MC and DJ, Pete Rock.

Police brutality at Smif-N-Wessun/Pete Rock release party

monumental smif-n-wessun pete rock
Last night at Tammany Hall in New York City, Smif-N-Wessun and Pete Rock celebrated their critically acclaimed collaborative album “Monumental” on Duck Down Records. Word is the concert was going great with fans and celebrities enjoying the good vibes, music and success of another true hip-hop project, but the venue was over crowded and at some point during the night a fight broke out outside the venue. At this time NYC police decided for no good reason to storm the venue and aggressively toss everyone out into the streets. Once the rightfully aggravated party goers were outside all hell broke loose as the NYPD violently attacked artist and patrons alike.
