MCMI RADIO: BAD SEED talks Thin Black Line & Police Brutality

Episode 1 – pt 1
MCMI RADIO: Real Hip Hop. Real Talk. Corey “BAD SEED” Pierson

For those who never knew about MCMI RADIO, it was launched Friday June 8th 2012, as part of the 6th Man Radio station (shout outs to Bad Seed), hosted on BlogTalkRadio. our first episode was MCMI RADIO: Real Hip Hop. Real Talk. Ep 1 “LYRICISTS LOUNGE” and continued for 50 straight episodes, until our final broadcast “MCMI RADIO: Ep 50 – Rock Steady Crew & End of the Weak”, on Friday, July 26th, 2013. The show was primarily hosted by myself (GMS) and my partner in MCMI, The Plague, Hydra and basically my brother from another mother, LR Blitzkrieg.

MCMI REPORT: The Return of MCMI RADIO!

Over the year, we featured co-hosts and special guests including PackFM, MrMecc, Poison Pen, PH (#ripPH), Wordsworth, D-Stroy, Tonedeff, Sha Stimuli, Masta Ace, Mazzi, Vicky Green, Substantial, Bad Seed, Billy Screem (TeamHOMI), Organik (KOTD), Sara Kana, Homeboy Sandman, Vice Verses (EOW), Kosha Dillz, Audible Doctor (BrownBagAllstars), Chordz Cordero, yU, Steph the Saphic Songstress, The MarXman, Angel “Sweetness” Garcia (Pro Boxer) and Novell “Black Taoist” Bell (ManUpStandUp / BET’s “IRON RING”), I Am Many, Jess James Figeroa, Swave Sevah (TeamHOMI), Bryan from theBeeShine, Keith “Wild Child” Middleton, Icon the Mic King, and Kevin “DJ Organic” Fitzgerald (Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme).

MCMI REPORT: The Return of MCMI RADIO!

After a year of doing the talk show live almost every week, LR Blitzkrieg and myself just couldn’t keep it up. The show took a lot of work, preparing, setting up interviews, getting crates ready. We needed to dedicate more of our time to the record label and to other aspects of MCMI, so we stopped doing the show.

Well, almost three years later – WE ARE BACK, BABY! This time the show will not be live and will not be weekly. It is now hosted on the MCMI YouTube Channel (Subscribe), which has MUCH better sound quality than BlogTalkRadio and will drop from time to time, whenever we have a good interview or something to talk about.

MCMI REPORT: The Return of MCMI RADIO!

All of the previous BlogTalkRadio shows are archived and can be found on MCMIreport.com/radio-archives. That will be considered “Season 1”. The new shows on Youtube are “Season 2”. Some will be mostly audio, with photos and video clips inserted throughout. Others will be full video format. New music and videos will occasionally be featured between segments of talk.

The new shows will be alternately hosted by MCMI’s GMS, LR Blitzkrieg, Keith WildChild Middleton, MrMecc and other artists affiliated with MCMIreport.com and MCMI Records. So, subscribe, listen, like, comment, share and stay tuned!!!

PH Memorial Friends & Family

On June 9, 2015 the world lost a valued member of the Hip Hop community, Robert Alan Diaz (September 17, 1975 – June 9, 2015), known by his stage name Pumpkinhead aka PH. We also lost a beloved friend, brother, husband, son and father.

PH in Cap

PH was known as the Underground King in the Hip Hop music biz and on the battle rap scene. He was a Hip Hop music purist, dedicating his life to creating, celebrating and preserving the art form. He was known to be extremely humble, supportive of dozens of movements, wanting to help anyone who he felt was also doing music that was good for the culture. In honor of his legacy we look to unite fans, friends and others to pay their respects to PH.

The theme is white clothing (*optional, of course), since we are CELEBRATING his LIFE and MUSIC, not mourning, with a splash of Orange for PH’s style.

PH BattlingPH grew up in Park Slope, one block from this venue, so the location has a special significance for family and friends. PH was such a loved figure in the community and around the world that his family was flooded with thousands of requests to come to the funeral. Unable to accommodate everyone they decided to keep the services small and relatively private. Regrettably, many people felt left out and needed a place to pay respects to PH.

The Family has love for all and PH’s mom, wife, kids, and other relatives will be in attendance to accept condolences, hugs and fond memories of your times with Robert. All  are welcome in love, respect & solidarity for our brother, MC, Event Promoter, friend & family man, the Underground King.

PH County of Kings Shirt

This memorial event is for the community to come together, connect with friends, speak about PH’s impact on music and on our lives, watch footage of PH’s videos and his Last Interview, and raise money for the memorial fund. Food was donated by Fat Buddha Bar (212 Avenue A, nyc), which was one of PH’s favorite hang outs.

ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO PH’S FAMILY. Thank you for your continued support.

Constant Flow ft Swave Sevah & AKIR – DOG TAGS (Official Video)

We already told you about the album. Here is the video for the single DOG TAGS, featuring Swave Sevah (TeamHOMI) & Akir. This song, produced by Southpaw, is fast and furious in delivery, with the Rebel Arms crew pulling no punches as they attack the industry. The video, shot in an abandoned prison in Newark, by Alex F. Ghosan, compliments it well. If CF was on lockdown previously, this song is definitely a prison break.

Bugz – “Used To Be” [Official Video]

TeamHOMI doesn’t just rep for battling, as those who have checked out Swave Sevah’s recent album Son of A One Armed Man or PH’s Know The Ledge, surely must know. This time with some heat it’s Bugz, with a heartfelt trip down memory lane, “Used To Be”. The way he flips the words “used to” will keep you listening, as he gets deep, rapping about growing up conflicted. “Smart enough to stand out, but dumb enough to wanna fit in,” Bugz vents over a lamentful Meek Mills track, with a soulful chorus. A good student, but poor and struggling to eat, with a crack addicted mother, among other things, Bugz turned to that life, to increase his dividends. Bugz makes us feel his pain.

Directed by @Capnels, the black and white video has a nostalgic effect, with a cameo from crew member Swave Sevah.

I played tons of music from Brooklyn artists – with a few non-Brooklyn artists mixed in there as well, while co-host LR Blitzkrieg gave us some news on Brooklyn topics of interest, such as Jay-Z adding 5 new dates to his Barclay Center Nets Arena concerts, since the first few sold out instantly at as much as $250 a ticket. We talked about Marv Won vs Math Hoffa and other upcoming PoisonPen.tv/URL battles and took requests off the air, but we mostly just hit you with music, music and more music. The artwork above, from the single “County of Kings” ft. ShaStimuli, Skyzoo, Ruste Juxx & LR Blitzkrieg, off PH’s album Know the Ledge. It is available as a tee shirt at MCMI Apparel and we will have some at our booth Saturday at the BKHHF.
