MCMI RADIO: BAD SEED talks Thin Black Line & Police Brutality

Episode 1 – pt 1
MCMI RADIO: Real Hip Hop. Real Talk. Corey “BAD SEED” Pierson

For those who never knew about MCMI RADIO, it was launched Friday June 8th 2012, as part of the 6th Man Radio station (shout outs to Bad Seed), hosted on BlogTalkRadio. our first episode was MCMI RADIO: Real Hip Hop. Real Talk. Ep 1 “LYRICISTS LOUNGE” and continued for 50 straight episodes, until our final broadcast “MCMI RADIO: Ep 50 – Rock Steady Crew & End of the Weak”, on Friday, July 26th, 2013. The show was primarily hosted by myself (GMS) and my partner in MCMI, The Plague, Hydra and basically my brother from another mother, LR Blitzkrieg.

MCMI REPORT: The Return of MCMI RADIO!

Over the year, we featured co-hosts and special guests including PackFM, MrMecc, Poison Pen, PH (#ripPH), Wordsworth, D-Stroy, Tonedeff, Sha Stimuli, Masta Ace, Mazzi, Vicky Green, Substantial, Bad Seed, Billy Screem (TeamHOMI), Organik (KOTD), Sara Kana, Homeboy Sandman, Vice Verses (EOW), Kosha Dillz, Audible Doctor (BrownBagAllstars), Chordz Cordero, yU, Steph the Saphic Songstress, The MarXman, Angel “Sweetness” Garcia (Pro Boxer) and Novell “Black Taoist” Bell (ManUpStandUp / BET’s “IRON RING”), I Am Many, Jess James Figeroa, Swave Sevah (TeamHOMI), Bryan from theBeeShine, Keith “Wild Child” Middleton, Icon the Mic King, and Kevin “DJ Organic” Fitzgerald (Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme).

MCMI REPORT: The Return of MCMI RADIO!

After a year of doing the talk show live almost every week, LR Blitzkrieg and myself just couldn’t keep it up. The show took a lot of work, preparing, setting up interviews, getting crates ready. We needed to dedicate more of our time to the record label and to other aspects of MCMI, so we stopped doing the show.

Well, almost three years later – WE ARE BACK, BABY! This time the show will not be live and will not be weekly. It is now hosted on the MCMI YouTube Channel (Subscribe), which has MUCH better sound quality than BlogTalkRadio and will drop from time to time, whenever we have a good interview or something to talk about.

MCMI REPORT: The Return of MCMI RADIO!

All of the previous BlogTalkRadio shows are archived and can be found on MCMIreport.com/radio-archives. That will be considered “Season 1”. The new shows on Youtube are “Season 2”. Some will be mostly audio, with photos and video clips inserted throughout. Others will be full video format. New music and videos will occasionally be featured between segments of talk.

The new shows will be alternately hosted by MCMI’s GMS, LR Blitzkrieg, Keith WildChild Middleton, MrMecc and other artists affiliated with MCMIreport.com and MCMI Records. So, subscribe, listen, like, comment, share and stay tuned!!!

MCMI Report: Yasiin Bey – “NO Colonial Fiction” (New Song) + Comments on ISIS

MCMI Report Yasiin Bey NO Colonial Fiction – Comments on ISIS attacks in Paris

MCMI Report Yasiin Bey NO Colonial Fiction

MCMI Report Yasiin Bey NO Colonial Fiction

MCMI Report Yasiin Bey NO Colonial Fiction – Spotted this on OkayPlayer. Apparently, hours after the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, which are being attributed to ISIS, Yasiin Bey (previously known as Mos Def), did an interview on a radio show called  Ferrari Sheppard‘s A Country Called Earth Acce Sessions. In the interview, Yasiin commented on the Paris ISIS attacks, giving a big “F*CK Off” to ISIS, saying that they don’t represent Islam. He also directed his choice words to “to everybody trying to say ‘see, this is Islam’s fault.‘” Yasiin then goes on to explain,

“The problem is not Islam [or] organized religion. The problem is people’s lack of compassion and caring for themselves and their fellow human beings. “

In the interview, which took place while he was in Germany, Yasiin said,

“Love must and will prevail, I don’t care how corny it sounds,”

and compared the attack to the Tamir Rice shooting and other events of injustice and murder of innocent people.

Yasiin also dropped an unreleased song, NO Colonial Fiction. I don’t know if this is for a specific project, or if it is just a song he had not released before, but he probably knew it would bring attention to his comments. I am a fan, so any new material is always welcome. Let me know what you think of the track, as well as Yasiin’s comments, in the comments section below. Is he on point or off track?

Rant Wars ft. Funk Flex, Jay Z, Hannibal Buress

Burress Flex Jay Z

Rant Wars ft. Funk Flex, Jay Z, Hannibal Buress

FUNK FLEX RANT #1:

In the past few days NY DJ and radio personality FUNKMASTER FLEX (HOT97) took to the airwaves twice to rant about a personal beef with Jay Z, airing out some past bitterness (Flex is mad because he feels Jay Z grilled him about his App a couple years ago and then turned around and used that info for his own App) and a few cases of being asked by club 40/40 manager NOT to play Dipset music when he DJ’s there (because of a long running feud between Dipset and Hov). Media hopped on the first rant for obvious reasons (#1 NY Radio DJ takes on #1 NY rapper = #’s). The rant was annoying however, because as much as we do really want to know what the beef is and love celebrities airing out their laundry in public, Flex didn’t really cover much ground and spent about 8 minutes pressing the “bomb” button, which is his trademark sound effect.

Jay’s response was to not say anything publicly about the rant and to instead have news leaked that he was in talks to buy HOT97! Okay, it’s a group of investors, including Jay, but that’s the same thing that happened with the Barclay’s  deal.

Flex then dropped a second rant, again with the bombs every three words, this time talking about a text Hov apparently sent him, using capital letters for “HOV” which Flex found disrespectful, Jay trying to “son” him.

FUNK FLEX RANT #2:

Apparently, comedian Hannibal Buress has had enough and has dropped his own rant against Funk Flex’s rant against Jay Z and hilarity ensued. The comedian is mocking the DJ’s over use of the bomb sound effect as much as anything he is actually talking about. I have been to Hannibal Buress’ shows, listened to him on satellite radio and he is one of the funniest new comedians out!  As a DJ, Flex can really put a hurting on most music artists careers, but Hannibal doesn’t sing and Flex is not really in the world of comedy, so I think he’s safe. I wonder if Flex will go on a rant about Hannibal tomorrow?

If you haven’t heard Hannibal Buress’ comedy, check out his website: hannibalburess.com.

Will he work on another full length comprehensive Album? Will he hang it up and quit the rap game? Anything’s possible. Meanwhile, Rent Tape #8 “The SAVIOR is available here. #9, entitled9.2.5“, just became available as well. After that, there’s three more to come and then that may or may not be “it”.
