Over 14 years ago, there was a double A-Side record called “Plan A”, produced by Skeme Team, which had The Arsonists & Non Phixion (“14 Years of Rap”) on one side and Brooklyn Academy (“Con Artists”) on the other. At the end of 2013, right on time for Christmas, comes a new song from PH&Q-Unique, as the Brooklyn Academy and Arsonists veterans come together once again, over a DJ Supa Dave production, “Gatekeepers”.
“Gatekeepers” is a statement from the two artists showing that they can verbally spar with the best old and new rappers in the game, keeping Hip Hop exactly that – “Hip Hop”! The song is dope, with both MC’s spittin’ fire over the Supa Dave banger and the artwork is pretty sick as well. I hear there is a video in the works.
Big ups to HIGRADETV for this awesome footage of the God Sean Price(‘Sean Peeee!!’) rockin’ joints off of his album “Mic Tyson“, plus past classics, live in Toronto on April 19th, 2013, accompanied by the homie PH for their song Batterin’ Bars. Click on “more” to see Parts 2 & 3 after the jump.
Fresh off the demolition of Uno Lavoz at yesterdays VoiceBox Battles event in Philly, PH releases “Devastator” a response track to D.Chamberz “What if I Battle Rap?” In which the Brooklyn MC took shots at PH’s old moniker “Pumpkin Head” (as well as many other battle rappers). Ever the competitor, PH couldn’t let the name drop slide and fired back with this response over Biggie’s “Who Shot Ya?” #TeamHomi!!!
PH is back with another single off his full length album Know The Ledge on MCMI Records. KING LATIFAH is the most popular song to date (according to DJ’s, fans at shows, hits on BandCamp, sales and streams on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc.). Produced by Chino, the song’s title embraces a jab thrown at PH during one of his many hip hop battles. While it was a funny line, he realized that
“Queen Latifah is not wack, so to compare me to her, a Hip Hop, television and film Icon and remind yourself that I am King? It’s all good. I’ll wear that.†– PH
With his dedication to the battle scene, classic albums like A Beautiful Mind, Orange Moon Over Brooklyn and Know The Ledge, tours all over the globe and collaborations with some of hip hop’s elite, PH has earned the title of “underground king.†Support by getting the single, album or King Latifah Tee Shirt and by spreading this through Facebook, Twitter and all other Social Media.
As Most of you know I was dissed by an artist who goes by the name of Frank Stacks. He took offense to a line in a battle I did against his bestie Dirtbag Dan I did explain that it was more of a play on words than dissing him. He had fair warning this will be the only track that I will put out addressing him One Shot, One Kill Over the Illmind Track that was recently used by 50 cent for Pop The Trunk on his Gangsta Grillz The Lost Tape Because I refuse to waste an original beat on “TRASH RAPPERS” . On a positive note you can watch me go for the King Of The Dot Championship June 30th in Toronto Live from CLUB XS Located @261 Richmond Street West, Toronto
