Prince Po & Oh No – Smash ft. Pharoahe Monch & O.C. (Video)

When this song first dropped I posted it on the site and thought that possibly they (Prince Po, Pharoahe Monch & O.C.) got together and decided reunite on this track after all rocking at the Masters Of The Underground/Organized Konfusion – Stress:Extinction Agenda 20yr anniversary show we thew at SRB back in January (EPIC EVENT BTW!). Well don’t I feel like an ass. Not only did they ALREADY make this song but they shot the video for it at OUR event! (peep the banner in the back?) There were a TON of hip hop’s elite at the event, see how many you can catch with the camera whizzing by capturing the mood of the song “Smash” off Prince Po & Oh No‘s album “Animal Serum.” now in stores everywhere. lets see I see D-stroy…Doc Ahk… Rockwilder….oh look! there’s me and Jean Grae acting a fool on stage! lmao.BJ

Prince Po and Oh No “SMASH” Feat. Pharoahe Monch and O.C.

New track from Prince Po and his old Organized Konfusion / Fudge Pudge cohorts Pharoahe Monch and O.C.off Prince Po & Oh No’s Animal Serum album which is out today. I bet they all talked and made this track after MCMI & Est.1975‘s show “Maters of the Underground” that we threw a few months ago celebrating the 20th anniversary of Organized first album Stress:The Extinction Agenda

It was 20 years ago, 1994, when the incredible album STRESS: THE EXTINCTION AGENDA dropped on the world, further cementing the duo ORGANIZED KONFUSION’s legacy in Hip Hop history. The angst, spirituality and insane lyricism displayed on practically every song make this a classic album, one that can be played straight through, beginning to end. Stress (“Krush, Kill, Destroy, Stress”), The Extinction Agenda, Thirteen, Black Sunday, Drop Bombs, Bring It On, Why, Let’s Organize, 3-2-1, Keep it Koming, Stray Bullet and Maintain are each classic songs in their own right. For myself, it is hard to decide which one is my favorite. I try and end up naming about 7 of them!

When my MCMI partner PH explained that he booked Organized Konfusion (Pharoahe Monch & Prince Po) for a show, and that Pharoahe came back with the idea to make it a 20 Year Anniversary of the album event, featuring special guest O.C., I said “Yes!”, before he could even finish explaining. As a fan, this was an event I could put my heart into, celebrating one of my favorite albums from one of my favorite Hip Hop groups. Adding Large Professor to the bill, UG (of CellaDwellas) and all the other artists and DJ’s was a bonus, making this a truly historical event, right in my hometown Park Slope, Brooklyn! Discount tickets and VIP Package available here.

The event was originally planned for another venue, but moving it to SRB was perfect, because of its size and quality of the sound system. I am truly excited for the show Monday (January 27th) and according to advanced ticket sales, so are you. If you haven’t purchased tickets yet, you should know that besides for the discount ticket (until Monday, then it is full price, so don’t delay), there is a VIP Package which includes an official event Tee Shirt & Poster (shout out to Mic Handz with the designs), plus a goodie bag of giveaways, treats curtesy of MCMIreport.com, to thank you all for your support!

A lot of celebrity guests, friends and supporters of Organized Konfusion have already rsvp’d to the event. Hope to see you there as well!

Marco Polo “3-O-Clock” f. Organized Konfusion (Pharoahe Monch & Prince Po)

via SoundCloud

The lead-single from Marco Polo’s forthcoming LP, PA2: The Director’s Cut, accomplishes what no one else has been able to pull off in over a decade–reunite Organized Konfusion. Since the duo disbanded in 1997, there has been no new OK material and every few years or so the usual “reunion rumors” emerge and then disappear.

Marco Polo’s forthcoming LP, PA2: The Director’s Cut will be released on 11-12-2013 via SoulSpazm Records and features appearances from Talib Kweli, DJ Premier, Posdonous, Masta Ace, Kardinal Offishall, Styles P, Lil Fame, Alchemist, Oh No, MC Eiht, King Tee, Michael Rapport, Large Professor, Inspectah Deck, Rah Digga, Slaine, Ill Bill, Organized Konfusion, Doppelgangaz & many more.
