Brooklyn emcee LR Blitzkrieg, CO-CEO of MCMI, 1/3 of Hydra and founder of the rap crew The Plague, is here with his first solo release “Proxy.” Produced by Atlanta MC/Producer Ness Lee, Proxy takes you on a journey of living life to the fullest. Through the lens of newfound fame and wealth, Blitz paints a picture of hip hop extravagance and classic fun, with a hook that starts off with a prayer:

“Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the lord my soul to keep
And if I don’t die before I wake
When I wake up we gon’ spend all this cake!”

While he can still draw breath, LR Blitzkrieg is not only going to live each day as if it is his last, he will live it up for those who will never have the chance to. The song is a tribute and prayer for people like Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Philando Castille as well as for Blitz’s lifelong friend and label mate Robert “PH” Diaz, all whose lives were cut short far too soon. Filmed in Las Vegas, in collaboration with HYDRA and friends and represents living your life to the fullest because you never know when your time is up.

PROXY is the first single and video off of LR Blitzkrieg’s debut solo Album Outta Nowhere, which will drop “outta nowhere” sometime soon!

You can download or stream the song from EVERYWHERE music is sold, including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, Tidal and Bandcamp. Leave a comment on youtube and let us know what you think of the song, the video and what it represents.

Ness Lee vs Tumi in South Africa! (Battle)

I got to talk to Ness Lee (who for those of you who don’t know is an amazing artist, Producer and Battle MC from Atlanta) fresh off his historic trip to South Africa to battle one of the motherlands most respected Hip Hop artist Tumi.  When asking Ness about the experience he said

“Brah. Shit was a fucking dream come true. People always say they want to go to africa but thats not an easy thing to do. the fact that battle rap took me there made it that much better man”

To say that these two MC’s put on a classic is an understatement. this battle was one of the best i have EVER seen. And the crowd was just as on point being energized, un biased, made noise for great lines… and then shut the fuck up so they could hear the next one. American and Canadian audiences need to step up your spectator game. Just Sayin b.

Grind Time Now presents: Marvwon vs Ness Lee (Hosted by Immortal Technique & Poison Pen)

I’ve been waiting for the March Madness 2 videos to be ready! This event was simply amazing. Some of the best battles I’ve heard in a loooong time and to start things off here is the Marvwon (Detroit) vs. Ness Lee (Atlanta) battle. 25 minutes of pure heat. Here’s what Grind Time founder Drect had to say:

The first battle from GTNY’s “Most Hated” Tournament, where 8 emcees are battling for a shot to take their music careers to the next level as a recurring act on Immortal Technique ‘s “Middle Passage Tour.”
Please note: Someone in the crowd fainted during Marvwon’s 3rd round and cause a major distraction, which affected the last round of the battle.

This battle features two of the best battle rappers/song crafter combinations in the country: Marvwon & Ness Lee. Marv brings a witty style with a street edge to the table, while Ness focuses on wordplay, metaphors & lyracism. Definetly a matchup for the ages!

Video and preview of some of the other battles after the jump! (more…)
