LESSONS: MASTA ACE – Once Upon a Time in The Projects

Masta Ace

This is an important lesson for kids and young men growing up, about choices and making the right one. Decisions you make in life can make you or break you and let’s face it – decisions and choices are about the only thing we can truly control. You can’t change what you were born into. You can’t change what other people think and do. To quote Gandoff in Lord of the Rings,

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”

Masta Ace takes us down memory lane to share a personal story in which one day he was asked to ride out with some homies who were up to no good. Who knows what may have happened if he had made a different decision about what to do with his time. I’m glad for him and for his contributions to Hip Hop music that he made a good choice.
