“HOLLYWOOD” (prod. DJ STATIC)
Off PH’s “KNOW The LEDGE” project, a precursor to the highly anticipated EP, The Revenge Of Radames, on MCMI Records.
This song “Hollywood” is an exposure of an underlying trend that has secretly made it’s way through the Hip Hop industry.
According to PH, “Man I have seen artist straight up walk past fans that made them what they are without one shred of acknowledgment. It’s sad actually, the whole acting like your too busy to acknowledge a fan is played. Your not that important!
I have seen friends of mine [in the music business] act totally different when the machine is hot. I will never ignore a fan (friend) or treat those that I consider peers differently, because of my status in the game.
This is not a diss record. This is asking, “HEY!! Do you realize how you’re acting is what you used to make fun of and be repulsed by when you were struggling on the come up?”
This is not directed at any one person, but it is an eye opener. Take a look at yourself.  If you find this offensive, then I’m right. You are truly ‘Hollywood‘.”
The complete project “KNOW The LEDGE“, a street album of all new exclusive original music from PH, will drop later this summer, on MCMI Records.

MCMI‘s own PH went up against up and coming battle MC, Dirt at Grindtime now‘s March Madness 2. After 3 rounds of pure fire by both MC’s it was clear that PH came out the victor. Be on the lookout for PH’s new mixtape “Know the ledge” the prequel to his new album “The revenge of Radames” out soon on MCMI Records.
MCMI’s own PH took first place in TROJAN and LUDACRIS‘ rap contest called “Magnum Live Large Project 2″, which had competitions in Detroit, San Francisco, Miami and NYC. The New York one was held at Highline Ballroom, on April 4th, 2011 and pitted 16 MCs against each other, not spittin’ battle raps like they do in GrindTime, but competing in three categories: a capella verse, freestyle off the dome and performance of an original song.
For those who don’t know, PH (formerly “Pumpkinhead”) is also a GrindTimeNow battler. PH was the GrindTime East Coast President for awhile, but passed the torch to current President Poison Pen, so that he could step in the ring a few more times. He also is a 2 time Braggin’ Rites title holder, 2 time EOW MC Challenge winner, EOW Challenge of Champions winner (he went against all the other champions and came out on top), came in 2nd in the infamous BLAZE Battle and has recently won battles in the GrindTIme and KOTD (King of the DOT) leagues, so he’s versatile and can compete in multiple formats.
Trojan’s “Magnum Live Large” Project is not an MC battle, but an “EMCEE COMPETITION”. What’s cool about it is you get to freestyle and also do one of your songs. Plus you spit accapela one round, so everyone definitely hears every word of your verse, with no beat to play a factor. Whether you’re nice off the top, can write a killer verse, or are really good at putting a song together, you get a chance to put your best foot - er, rhyme – forward. Besides MCing, there also were B-Boy , Graffiti and DJ elements and even an educational panel discussion. Check out the NYC Highlights video:
The  judges for the New York event were either MC’s or C.E.O’s of reputable Hip Hop companies, from East and West, North and South, so we had people who really knew what they were listening to. There was Opio from Souls of Mischief (Cali), Prince Po from Organized Konfusion (Queens), J-Live (Philly), Danny Castro from the Legendary Lyricist Lounge (Brooklyn), Mad Illz, who reps Florida and is one of the C.E.O.’s of GrindTime, and R.A. the Rugged Man (Long Island). 14 hungry MC’s and one singer, who jumped in the contest to get some light, performed  their hearts out in hopes of winning the money and going to Miami to perform with Ludacris. The event was hosted by local host Posion Pen (GrindTime, Stronghold), and tour hosts Othello and Rahman Jamaal.
All PH’s rounds were strong, obviously, or he wouldn’t have been able to win, but the performance of his song “Oxygen” (video after the jump) really rocked the crowd. From the beat to the hook to the subject matter, the audience showed a lot of love. PH’s delivery and stage skills from years of touring the States and abroad, allowed him to tear down the stage effortlessly for the New York crowd.
Videos of PH’s song “Oxygen” that he performed live that night, plus his a capella round, both of which have not been previously released, after the jump!
Well the day is not over yet, but so far, no Armagedden. I heard a lot of people took the prediction that today’s date, May 20th, 2011 would be the end of the world. I admit I bought a few gallons of water and kept one in the chamber, just in case people on my block started acting stupid, but some people took it way farther than that. Â As reported by InsideEdition
Thousands of people across the world are convinced that the end of the world is upon us. “We can know that Judgment Day is going to be May 21, 2011!” one rally-goer told INSIDE EDITION. They claim that the apocalypse has been foretold by the Bible, and that natural disasters like the ones depicted in movies will start on Saturday at 6 p.m. One man in New York actually spent a small fortune, $140,000 of his own savings, to plaster “end of the world” posters all over the city.
But most people seem to be laughing it off, especially the late night comics. “Saturday is doomsday! That sucks, I just joined Netflix!” joked Jay Leno. And Jimmy Kimmel quipped, “This Saturday, May 21st is Judgment Day. We will be judged by Randy and J-Lo!”
But nobody is laughing over the story of Julianne McCrery, who stands accused of asphyxiating her 6-year-old son, Camden.
She allegedly went to Maine, where she dumped the body on a country road. Her lawyer made a stunning statement to reporters. “I believe she was up here to bring both her son and herself to heaven,” he said. There is speculation that the boy’s murder might have been influenced by fear among some people about the coming of the apocalypse.
What I don’t understand is why would she kill him before it actually happened? I mean, you could wait up all night, witht he television on News, looking out the window, with your son in the other room and if you start seeing demons flying out of the sky or things start blowing up all around you in the morning, THEN go and do what you gotta do. Why not wait and see? I don’t know if she was crazy or just a plain old fashioned “@sshole”. Lock her up and throw away the key.
HOW DID THIS MESS GET STARTED? Check the video below.
Anyway, from what I have heard (I am not a Christian), Christians believe that they will first be hit with the Rapture and then – months later – the Apocalypse. So, if you believe radio broadcaster Harold Camping’s prediction then May 21st would only be the Rapture and the end of the world would happen sometime in October.
I dug up this classic PH (formerly Pumpkinhead) song, featuring Jean Grae and Chas, off his Rawkus/SoulSpazm Album “Orange Moon Over Brooklyn“. It seemed a fitting song for the soundtrack to the end of the world. Â If things take a turn for the worse later on today at least you heard some good Hip Hop music before goin’ out! Shout to Marco Polo on the beat.
