How many of us have struggled with having written a verse on a cell phone only to go in the booth and the font is too small, the backlight goes to sleep in the middle of a take, or you are trying to scroll down because the rhyme doesn’t all fit on the page? Well, here’s an app that addresses many of those problems, as well as helps you keep your verses and songs organized. Rather than explain it to you I’ll just let the video do the talking. Screenshots above, video below. Let us know what you think!

Ethel Cee x Dumhi Presents… ‘Seven Thirty’ (Download)
Female MC’s who are true lyricists combined with production that bangs this hard is hard to come by, few and far in between. Is that due to a male dominated music industry, people frontin’ on female artists unless they shake (and reveal) their possibly pre-injected asses or less young girls growing up dreaming of doing this than young boys? Man, I don’t know. All I know is I have been disappointed by a lack of fresh female talent breaking through and making it out of the underground in recent years. Quick, name 5 female MC’s who can really spit, who came out within the last 5 years? … So I am thankful when something like this project comes across my desk.
Shout out to DubMD Promotions for bringing this to my attention, to Haj of Duhmi, banging out joints with the likes of Sadat X, Reef Tha Lost Cause, Che Grand, Ethel Cee, Sean Price, Side Effect, Von Pea, Baby Blak and a slew of other dope artists afiliated with the Dumhi collaboratice. And of course thanks to Ethel Cee for bringing creativity and artistry to her approach, maintaining lyrics, storytelling and sexiness within the music.
My favorite joints on here are “Lost” and “One Fifty” (which uses the infamous Amen break and happens to be the single off the project).

Sha Stimuli: The Trueman Show EP

Sha Stimuli drops The Trueman Show, the 4th EP from The Rent Tape Series. The EP is mostly produced by J Cardim, except for the title track, produced by The Epixx and one produced by Agor. Sha Stimuli always speaks to you. That’s always been his mission. So when I listen to his tracks I find myself … listening. Not for the beat or the chorus, but I actually want to hear his story. That’s the gift of a real MC. You can skim through it right here and for $4.99 you can own the collection. Enjoy.
The Trueman Show is an authentic look into Sha’s life using his music to convey his continuing struggles in the rap game, stepping into the world of the 9-5er, his love/hate relationship with the life that he left behind and what is not visible in the future, and the rise and fall of his personal and professional relationships (or is it just a metaphor). While we’ve heard Sha’s message before, we’ve not truly heard it like this, a cleansing of the soul, while rising up like the Phoenix from the ashes.

STOMP CAST on 106 & Park (Video)
MCMI recording artist Keith “Wild Child” Middleton was interviewed by 106 & Park’s Terrence & Rocsi, as the cast of STOMP performed on the show this past Thursday. You can tell from the cheers the audience loved him, but at the end Terrence got everybody’s name except for the guy he was interviewing … Keith! [Correction: He had already introduced him before the interview, but it's not on the online video post. My bad. - G]
When he is not STOMP-ing all over the world, from New York to Japan to Africa to Brazil, Keith “Wild Child” Middleton records for MCMI Records with his Hip Hop group HYDRA and his crew The Plague, as well as his own solo jazz-fusion Spoken Word projects. You can also find him playing Djembe at the legendary house party “Funkbox” (DJ TONY TOUCH) and the Hip Hop/RnB/Soul/House/Reggae mash up “Brooklyn Delight” (DJ DP ONE & DJ PEACE). Dat boy got talent!

Music from the Wild Child’s spoken word project, as well as music from HYDRA and The Plague will be dropping later this year. You can catch him most nights in STOMP at the Orpheum Theater in NY.

Zoe TV: D.M.P FEAT BOOGZ ” I SALUTE ” (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
This track is bananas, beans and rice. The whistle sample is pure ear candy. The whole track is ridiculous, but that whistle is freakin’ genius! DMP and Ken Boogz open up on this one lyrically. I’m looking forward to more DMP and waiting for Ken Boogz video for “No Time To Waste” to drop.

Ness Lee – I Am The South (Video)

Georgia MC Ness Lee just hit us up with his newest video “I Am The South” ft CoCo Jones & Abyss / directed by Nimi Hendrix. This track has everything it needs to be a hit, a hot beat,(produced by Ness w/additional production by Fred Golz) a catchy hook, great wordplay that is still accessible to the average listener and a theme that every southerner will love and every other region has to respect!
You can listen to and buy the single here. Support good hip hop!

COLD WORLD ft. SADAT X, NUTSO & PUNCHLINE prod. by Grand Papa Tra

“COLD WORD” - Single off the album LOST IN NEW YORK, by producer Grand Papa Tra.
SADAT X’s original delivery will never get old. He is just classic! Joined by Nutso and Punchline on this track by producer Grand Papa Tra. Production is tight, although the hook can’t compare to the GZA joint. No offense, but y’alls’ singing on the chorus aint messin’ with D’eangelo’s. (That’s right I said “y’alls” – poetic license dammit!). That’s my constructive criticism. Beats and rhymes is tight though.

Not only did Jay-Z design the new logo, which has two versions, one inside a shield and one inside a circle, I’m sure he was instrumental (no pun intended) in the slogans “Hello Brooklyn” and “Brooklyn’s Finest”, which adorn some of the apparel and just happen to be titles of Jay-Z songs.
